Generative Artificial Intelligence Policy
GENERATIVE ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE POLICY
Qubahan Techno Journal (QTJ) recognizes the developing role of artificial intelligence and Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) in research and scholarly communication.
The journal's policy is based on transparency, human accountability, accuracy, confidentiality, and research integrity.
1. AI Cannot Be an Author
AI systems, chatbots, large language models, and similar technologies cannot be listed as authors.
2. Human Responsibility
Human authors remain fully responsible for:
• accuracy;
• originality;
• methodology;
• data;
• mathematical or computational results;
• analysis;
• references;
• figures and creative materials;
• interpretations; and
• conclusions.
3. Disclosure
Substantive use of GenAI or AI-assisted technologies in manuscript preparation, coding, analysis, data processing, visualization, translation, generation of research materials, or creative production must be transparently disclosed.
4. Language Assistance
Limited use of automated tools for spelling, grammar, or readability does not transfer responsibility away from the authors.
5. AI as a Research Method
Research developing, evaluating, comparing, or applying AI models is permitted.
Authors must transparently report relevant datasets, methods, model configurations, evaluation procedures, and limitations.
6. Prohibited Uses
AI must not be used to:
• fabricate or falsify data;
• invent references;
• misrepresent sources;
• generate deceptive evidence;
• conceal plagiarism;
• create fraudulent peer reviews; or
• otherwise compromise research integrity.
7. References
Authors must personally verify every reference.
AI-generated or AI-suggested references must not be used unless their existence, accuracy, and relevance have been confirmed.
8. Editors and Reviewers
Confidential manuscripts, reviewer reports, unpublished data, and identifiable information must not be uploaded to publicly accessible AI systems where confidentiality cannot be assured.
Editors and reviewers remain personally responsible for their assessments and decisions.
9. Inappropriate or Undisclosed Use
QTJ may request clarification or supporting information where AI use raises concerns regarding originality, data, references, authorship, confidentiality, or research integrity.
